So I am so excited to share my February Makeup Favorites with y'all today.
I literally feel like February flew by, but I had some awesome times this month. It was Mardi Gras here in New Orleans, which is always fun, but I had friends in town this year so it was 10 times the fun this year. I also attended the Chris Brown Royalty Concert with my best friend on the 12th and we had a freaking amazing time. Chris Brown really killed the stage and I live for a good cocktail and some good music.
I didn't have a Valentine for the first time in a long time this year, but I had an amazing day pampering myself with new makeup and cooking my favorite dish, New Orleans Barbecue Shrimp. OMG, just thinking about it makes me want to stop at the seafood market on my way home.
Anyway, back to Makeup I tried out a few new products that I love this month and I actually have a non favorite item that I just hated so much that I had to share with you all.
NYX HD Concealer:
So I have a slight obsession with trying new concealer. More often then not, I end up not liking the formula, but I picked up the NYX HD Concealer wand and I am in love with this formula. A little goes a long way and I really enjoy this along with my Ben Nye Topaz Setting powder or the Coty Airspun Translucent powder. I have two shades in this on 07 and 08. I like to use the lighter of the two as a highlight when I need a little drama and the darker color for everyday concealing and highlighting. Also, this concealer is like $4.99 and who doesn't enjoy a great product at a low price.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Self Made Palette:
Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in "Fiery":
I live for a good red. I got this lipstick apart of the Eternally Yours Holiday Lip kit and I cannot get enough of it. It is such a bright true red with blue undertones. I also really love the Stay All Day liquid lipstick formula. It's so velvety and non drying in my opinion. The formula is very creamy and moussey and after it dries down it lasts for hours.
NYX Vivid Brights Eyeliner in "Vivid Envy:
I got these a few weeks ago on a whim and I love them. They are so vivid and translate onto the eye so well.I did a Face of the day with these about a week ago that I will link here. Besides the color, I love how long these last on the eye as well. I know I will be using these well into Spring, especially since Festival Season is approaching.
Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Bronzer Powder in "Ready To Go":
OMG, I love this as a highlighter. It is so gorgeous. It reminds me a lot of "Bubbly" from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow kit. At 6 dollars, you can't beat the pigmentation and the amount of product you get. Its also really smooth and not glittery at all. It just melts in the skin and I love this as a subtle winter highlight.
"The Four Agreements: A Personal Guide to Personal Freedom" by Don Miguel Ruiz:
This book literally changed my life a few years ago and I read this in early February as a refresher. In this book Ruiz explores all of the self limiting beliefs or agreements that we make within ourselves. He also explores the Four Agreements that can lead to personal freedom. I would recommend this book to every one.
Non Favorite
Nyx Wonder Stick in Dark:
I usually love Nyx products, but this was a fail for me. First, the highlight side is a weird consistency. It's also really sheer. Everytime I have worn this I had to add extra cover to this. I also didn't care for the highlight side. It was a little light for my preference and
