So about that No Buy.....

Last weekend, I was browsing online and saw that Mac had a coupon code for $10 off of $50. I also noticed that the Chris Chang collection launched so I decided to pick up an item or 2.



I ended up getting 2 lipsticks and an eyeshadow.

The packaging for both of these are absolutely beautiful and in all truthfulness a large part of why I decided to get pick up a few things.

Let's take a look at some lip swatches:

Mac x Chris Chang lipstick in Plum Princess ($17):

As you can see from the picture, this is greyed purple with a matte finish. The formula is actually super comfortable and long wearing like most Mac lipsticks. These are not as dry as the retro matte formula, which is great. I plan on pairing this with a dark purple or brown liner, but the color is really pretty and unique to my collection. I don't think I own any purples that are this cool toned and I'm so glad I added this to my collection.

Mac x Brooke Candy Lipstick in DooWop ($17):

Doo Wop taken with flash

DooWop is decribed as a pink pop on the Mac website. It is a gorgeous Barbie pink. It has more white and is less blue toned then Candy Yum Yum. This color is definitely a wearable bright pink and is perfect for the spring and the summer. Doowop is a must have for me and I'm glad I picked it up.

Eye shadow in Electric Mandarin ($16)

I honestly could not get a good swatch of this eye shadow, but its a bright coral orange and would be ideal as a transition shade for me. It is not the most pigmented orange, but I think that could be a good thing if used as a transition shade. I also layered this over a white base and that made the color a lot more bright on my skin tone.

Overall, I was really happy with the items that I picked up. The lipsticks are so pretty and Plum Princess is such a unique color and I can't wait to pair it with a dark liner. I did pair the lipsticks together and got a lovely ombre lip, so I will definitely be wearing these lipsticks together.
