I live for a good vacation, so when my Best friend's bestfriend invited me to her wedding in Mexico I jumped at the chance to take a beautiful holiday and celebrate the union of my friend and her fiance.
Whenever I have a tropical vacation, heavy makeup is the last thing on my mind. I also don't like traveling with a whole bunch of things because I tend to lose things easily and I'm not the most organized person so minimal is better for me. Let's take a peek at some of the items I have to have while traveling in order to stay glam.
I also tried to leave links, just in case you want to check out the item for yourself!
The Balm Voyage 2 Palette
I picked this up at Nordstrom Rack a few weeks ago and love how compact and versatile it is. It is literally the only palette I need to bring because it features 9 high quality eye shadows, 4 powder face products and 2 cream cheek/lip products. I got all the eyeshadow looks I needed from this one palette ( and a some singles for brighter pops of colors TBH).Laura Mercier Translucent Powder
I typically like to travel with pressed translucent powder, but since it was a wedding and I knew I would need more coverage so I opted to bring this because it literally never fails me and prevents creasing like no other powder I own.Becca Ever Matte Shine Proof Foundation
This foundation was the real MVP for my vacation. It lasts all day and keeps my skin matte even in hot humid weather. I think for normal weather, this is an ideal foundation for my oily girls. It's $42 dollars, but will not fail you. I literally don't travel with any other foundation.Makeup Forever Pro Light Fusion Highlighter in "Golden"
This highlighter is super new to my collection so I brought it because I wanted to test it out more than anything. So far, I love the glow it gives and the tone is perfect for my skintone. It's gel like texture makes it look as if its melting into the skin. You definitely won't get any chunky glitter in this one. Definitely a must have for a beach holiday.Lorac Color Source Buildable Blush in "Ultra Violet"
This blush comes along on weekends away and vacation mostly because the color is absolutely gorgeous on my skin. This is great for dramatic looks and it is truly buildable. So it's actually possible for someone with lighter skin to use this with a light hand and not look like they have bruised cheeks.Studio Fix Powder in NW45
I cannot leave this house without this powder, so of course its coming along to Mexico. I like to use this for touch ups and in place of liquid foundation when I don't want a lot of coverage. This stuff covers pretty good and I love how perfect it makes my skin look.Mac Cosmetics Lipsticks Ruby Woo and Whirl
If I could only have two lipsticks for the rest of my life these are the two I would choose. They are polar opposites and yet still so essential for me. Ruby Woo is that perfect red that looks good on anyone and pairs with almost any look. I will most definitely be rocking this with a minimal face to the beach. Whirl is the perfect matte nude tone for me. When I travel, these are typically non negotiable.Tarte Shape Tape Concealer
This has quickly become my new favorite concealer because it light weight, yet ultra full coverage. It's perfect for full on highlighting and spot concealing which makes it the perfect concealer for travel!Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Marine Boosting Mist
This little travel size spray came to me in a Sephora's Favorites Box (post) and it is the perfect size for traveling and works extremely well. I also love how the spray mists out. It's so even and cooling and I get the right amount of wetness to refresh my skin and set my makeup in place.Broadway Eyes #WSP Lashes
These lashes are my favorite style of false lashes. The band is ultra thin and they are not too dramatic, but still extremely gorgeous. i love that these are only like $3.99 (get them here) and you can wear them with or without eyeliner.Comment below and let me know some of your travel essentials and where you plan to travel to this Winter!
