By Trecee Hutchinson - 12:35:00 PM
Happy Monday!
Today, I want to talk about some recent Fall glow finds of mine.
Most people have heard of the Monthly Ipsy Glam bag that features four samples, but I recently found out the Ipsy also features little deals that change every so often called Ipsy offers. Two weeks ago, I decided to order the Go to Glow Kit, since my highlighter obsession has been real for some time now. I was excited to order this kit, because for $20 you get 7 highlighter products. For the past week, I have had a little time to play with this kit and I was thoroughly impressed with the products and want to share my thoughts and some swatches with y'all...
What's Inside
Wet n Wild Mega Glo Highlighter in " Precious Petals" ($3.99)
I actually did a review on this whole collection (post). This highlighter is life! It's so pigmented and reflective. It's a pink highlighter with silver reflect and melts into the skin just like your favorite high end highlighter.Wet n Wild also just added these to their permanent collection, which means you have to go out and pick this up ASAP! In my opinion, this particular shade would be perfect on light and medium skin tones, but I use this highlighter in the center of my face a lot. It looks gorgeous in the inner corner of the eyes or down the center of the nose. I am definitely going to probably pass this on to one of my friends since I already own it.Tarte Cosmetics Park Avenue Princess Bronzer(full size $30)
Upon first swatch, on me this is not a bronzer at all, but the consistency is actually really smooth and blends into the skin well. I used this on the tops of my cheeks as a highlighter and I love the effect it gave. It's shimmery, but not glittery and is probably best suited for medium skin as a bronzer. As a highlighter, it has silver shimmer that is actually really pretty on the skin This one was a sample size but comes with a bunch of product.Belle Pierre Mineral Bronzer in "Pure Element" ($64.95)
Admittedly, Belle Pierre is not a brand that I had ever heard of so I did not expect much from this product. I don't care for mineral products because they tend to be messy, but this swatched and performed beautiful on the face. It's extremely reflective and gorgeous. I was surprised by the original price of this product though. According to the Bella Pierre website, this retails for $65, which seems to be a little steep for a mineral bronzer. It's gorgeous, but I can't say I would spend that amount of money on itOfra Cosmetics X Dupe That "You Glow Girl" Highlighter ($15.00)
I was sooo excited to try out the highlighter because it seems to be a really popular product. It's my first Ofra product and if this quality is consistent throughout the brand, will not be my last. This stuff is super smooth and extremely pigmentedTrust Fund Cosmetics That Glo Tho
This is the only cream product in this and it was just okay in my opinion. The pigmentation was lacking and it seemed kind of dull on the skin. It's a light champagne, which I usually like, but this was not my favorite. I will probably still try it out and layer it with a powder highlight.Royal & Langnickel Fan Brush ($3.99)
I was excited to see a few brushes in this kit. This fan brush is really well made and the purple color is actually kind of gorgeous. It's a basic fan brush and is perfect for highlighting and getting a high concentration of color onto the cheeks.Wet n Wild Small Stippling Brush ($2.99)
The final product in this kit is the Wet n Wild Small Stippling. I own a few of the Wet n Wild brushes and I think that this one is pretty good, It can be used to apply and blend out any cream products and to blend powder highlighter with the rest of the skin. This brush is a good value for the money, its comparable to the Elf Small Stippling Brush,Final Thoughts
This kit was an amazing value for what it comes with. It has a great variety of finishes and types of highlighters. An awesome sample if you're some one like me who loves to try a variety of brands. I also love this kit for girls who are just starting out and makeup and want to figure out what kind of highlighters work for them.
Tell me some of your Fall Highlighting finds below in the comments!
