So I've been subscribed to Boxycharm for about 5 months now and although I have been thoroughly enjoying the boxes, I feel like over the past few months they have just been getting better and better that they deserve their own blog post so I thought it would be best to start with my freshest box which I received a few days ago. The theme for this month's box is Cutie Pie and for $21 each box offers 5 full size products, typically valued over $100. In fact, this month's box is worth $123 total!
Let's check out this month's box!
Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in Monday - $6
I own a lot of Colourpop lipsticks in just
about every formula that they offer, but since its been a while since I've
picked up anything from the brand website I do not have this shade, Monday.
It's a midtone terracotta nude color, which is right up my alley colourwise, but like
every other Colourpop Ultra Matte Lippie, this sucker is drying as hell. I will still get a lot of wear out of this,
but will definitely be using gloss over it to circumvent the dryness. I had
seen that other people got Ultra Satin Lipsticks, which is my favorite formula,
but I'm still very happy with the color of the one I received, so 5 stars from
me.
Bare Minerals
Mineral Shield Spectrum Daily Prep Lotion -$30
I was actually really excited to see this
product in my box because I have a vacation coming up very soon and I need a
product that can multitask. I literally only have one other product by Bare
minerals so I'm excited to see if this is a good moisturizer/sunscreen/primer
like it claims to be. I don't have any prep lotions that I love, so hopefully this
one does the trick and offers SPF 50 protection.
Blinc Electric Eyes
Palette - $45
So I have never heard of Blinc Cosmetics
before but as soon as I swatched I fell
in love. All of the shades I received
are warm bronzy jewel tones and they are so pigmented and creamy. They also lasts all day and blend well together The only downside is
that there are mattes in the palette, but I'm totally fine with mixing in my
own matte transition shades. Check out these swatches!
Winky Lux Universal Brow Pencil - $12
Winky Lux is another new brand to me. I feel
like they make lashes, but I was excited to try out this brow pencil just for
kicks. Typically, I prefer to use Brow Pomades like Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip
Brow, but I'm interested in using this for my every day brows when I want
something really light. First off, I love the white and gold packaging, its so
nice and different. It has a really nice texture and the point reminds me of
the my Anastasia Brow Definer because of the angled tip it has.
Ofra Cosmetics Body
Illuminizer in "Charmer" - $30
This is also a new type of product for me. I've never tried a body illuminizer, but this one comes right on time for me since I'm going to Miami next week. It is described an all over body lotion with subtle champagne shimmer. I used this on my legs one time and didn't find that it made a huge difference, but I think It will pair nicely on my upper body on the beach. It also didn't transfer onto my clothes, which is a plus.
