Juvias Place Masquerade Palette : Does It Live Up to The Hype? Review + Swatches

If you pay any attention to the beauty community on Instagram or Youtube then you may have heard of Juvia's Place.
This company is a
black owned makeup brand ( which as a black woman deeply resonates with me!)
and offers some amazing beauty products that have been raved about by all of
your favorite bloggers (Kathleenlights and Nikkietutorials just to name a few).
My personal journey with the brand began a few months ago when I saw that they
were on Hautelook (see more info here) and had all of their current eye shadow
palettes on sale for 19 dollars. Since we all know I love a good sale, I
immediately picked up two of the palettes that I had been drawn to because of
the color schemes and all of the good things that I had been hearing about the
brand. I just had to see if they lived up to the hype.
With that being
said, if you are looking for the perfect eye shadow palette for the summer,
look no further than the Juvia's Place Masquerade palette. It combines gorgeous
warm neutrals with extremely vibrant cool pops of colors. This has been my
go to palette when I want to be extra, but the real question is how does it perform?
It retails for $35
for the full size and features 16 very
large pans that are close to the size of the Makeup Forever single shadow pans.
There is seriously 2.03 oz of product in the baby, which is a huge amount for a
palette. Another good thing about this
palette is that it is offered in a mini size that retails for $28 on the
Juvia's Place website. I purchased mine for 19 dollars, but they are always on
sale on the Juvia's Place website and there are also a bunch of affiliate codes
floating around.

As you can see from
the swatches, the pigmentation on these are A+! My favorite shade is Casablanca and I also love Zola a lot. The shimmers in this palette are
absolutely to die for. They offer
opacity with one swipe and apply good with
fingers and a flat packing brush.
I love the mattes in this palette too, but I feel like the two browns Burkina and Fulani as well as the warmer transition shades Zula and Ada look really similar on the eye. I wish there would have been a tad bit more variety in the mattes, but overall I still love the shade selection. I also think that a little goes a long way with these shadows. They build up nicel

As far as wear time,
I find that these wear all day on my eye without fading. I wore the look below
on a hot ass Sunday afternoon and it lasted all day and into the evening
without fading or melting together as sometimes inexpensive eyeshadows tend to
do. I wore the look below all day to the
Inner Harbor here in Baltimore and my look did not fade at all in the humidity.
I think that this
palette would be perfect for the girl that loves her warm neutrals, but
occasionally likes to dabble in color.
The price point is also really good for the amount of product you get.
This has become my travel palette because I can get so much variety. It's
perfect for the beach and will definitely be coming to Miami with me next
month!
